Jules Fetique (b. 1875, d. 1951) apprenticed and developed his bow making skills with the C.N. Bazin workshop until 1902. That same year, he went to work for Eugene Sartory. From this experience, Fetique’s bow making style resembled that of Sartory. In 1917, Fetique joined Caressa & Francais. According to its Paul Childs Certificate, this bow was made between 1917-1920.
The bow will elevate the violinist’s playing to a new, richly satisfying level. Once in hand, the bow is well balanced, nicely weighted, and comfortable. This bow produces a focused and clean sound in all dynamic ranges. The player will joyfully execute every imaginable bowing demand from the violin literature.
This bow has an unoriginal frog and button of English origin as documented on the Childs’ certificate. Its reduced price reflects this, allowing for a wonderful opportunity to own a Jules Fetique bow.
