Arnold Voigt (b. 1864, d. 1952) comes from one of the most prolific violin making families in history. Arnold apprenticed at the beginning of his career with the highly regarded maker Heinrich T. Heberlein. He established in Markneukirchen in 1890 and continued to create wonderful violins for almost 40 years. This violin is no exception to the beautiful work produced by Arnold Voigt. The violin produces a powerful and clear upper register, and is accompanied with richness and structure in the lower register. The instrument is varnished with a light brown-orange varnish on its belly and back. This violin would be perfect in the hands of a serious player looking for power without sacrificing refinement and color.
