Dominique Peccatte (b.1810, d. 1874) is one of the most important bow makers of all time and is second only to Francois Xavier Tourte. All of his bows are perfectly balanced tip to frog, making all of his bows immediately comfortable to play. His bows allow the player extreme control when it comes to nuance and articulation. Our bow is a perfect example of why Peccatte is famous among professional players. This bow allows the player limitless control over nuance and virtuosity and draws a [seemingly] endless amount of clarity and color from the player’s instrument. The bow is of exceptional value because of its unoriginal frog and button, which is reflected by its certificate of authenticity from Paul Childs.
