Archetier Pierre Maline (b. 1883, d. 1939) was born in Mirecourt. He mentored with his father Francois Alexandre Maline until 1906. Pierre. Maline then went to work and hone his techniques with Cuniot—Hury. Beginning in 1911. P. Maline made bows in the Mirecourt workshop of Feret-Marcotte. Maline bows are strongly influenced by the Bazin school and quite rare. This Pierre Maline bow has a Guillaume cert.
The bow is a joyous union of strength and immediate suppleness with confidence in every bow pull. The player is treated to a strong direct sound, liveliness, and clear tonal color as the bow dances across the strings in all manner of bowing techniques. The bow drives itself and requires only gentle guidance and control to speak. A professional or passionate violinist will be elated with flying up and down the violin with an unbridled and intimate connection with the strings. Enjoy!
