Heinrich Theodore Heberlein Jr. (b. 1843, d. 1910) was the grandson of the Heberlein family dynasty established by Johann Gottlieb Heberlein (b 1782, d. 1856). Heberlein Jr. was involved with violin making all his life as well as establishing himself as a savvy businessman. The Heberlein standards were high, demanding, and they became an international standard in the string instrument market lasting until the 1940’s. Heberlein was especially known for his use of varnish to achieve an artistic effect, the high quality of wood, the ample amount of handwork, and the authenticity of making faithful copies of Stradivari and Guarneri.
This gorgeous violin is so smooth, rich, and satisfying to play! The violin springs to life with a plethora of overtones and a tonal undercurrent evoking thoughts of fine chocolate or a cup of espresso. You will be pleased with the dynamic and immediate response of the Heberlein. A wonderful treat awaits you!
