Polish maker Tomasz Kowalski, born in 1966, started his career in carpentry and artistic furniture. However, his passion from the beginning was for creating musical instruments. He started practice in the workshop of master Jan Bobak in Nowy Targ, and later made instruments for the American company “William Harris Lee”. He then went on to become a member of the Association of Polish Violin Makers (ZPAL) and eventually open his own studio called the Kowalski Violin Makers Workshop. His instruments are played worldwide, and Tomasz currently works with his son, Daniel. This cello has a beautiful, round tone that is perfectly in-between warm and bright. It resonates fully and evenly across the registers, allowing advanced players to create a powerful yet sweet sound.
