Lawrence S. Furse, violinmaker for over 41 years, has an excellent reputation for instruments with a beautiful sound plus a handsome appearance.  He was a featured luthier providing his violins, violas and cellos for Bein & Fushi for many years.  He studied at the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City and his work is well-known in that region. He later worked with Otto Erdesz in Ontario, Canada which might explain why Furse’s violas are so successful. His instruments are modeled after the Classical Italian makers such as Guarneri del Gesu, Maggini, Gasparo da Salo, and Matteo Goffriller. This viola is extremely powerful! Its huge sound projects incredibly well through any performance hall. The instrument is beautifully responsive and is fit for players ranging from collegiate level to professionals.
