The Louis Descombes model viola was made at the Aubert Lutherie workshop in Mirecourt under the direction of Aubert master luthier Vincent Morin.  Mirecourt is the cradle of the great French violin making tradition, thus each instrument is crafted with exquisite tonewood and the utmost attention to detail. A pleasing amber brown varnish provides the finishing touch to the Louis Descombes model viola.

The viola speaks with a bold and engaging tone.  The clarity is solid and confident at all dynamic levels.  Violists will appreciate how comfortable the viola is to play.  This is a smaller viola with a big sound and will allow technique to soar.  Double stops and octaves are handily executed. Shifting is efficient and nimble on this viola.
