Joseph Aubry served as a violinmaking apprentice in Mirecourt. Upon finishing his apprenticeship, he established his own workshop and won his first award for violinmaking in Paris, 1921. He worked without assistants and made all of his instruments entirely with his own hands. This violin has a big sound for its size with excellent clarity and depth of focus. It has a beautiful two piece back with golden brown varnish and a tight flame.
