Bernd Dimbath graduated from the Mittenwald Violin Making School in 1987 and is considered a world class maker of violins and cellos. His workshop is based in Bubenreuth, Germany. Dimbath’s approach to instrument making is unique as his instruments are handmade while utilizing advanced scientific measurements and acoustical engineering to test the vibration properties of the tone woods. The result is a meticulously made cello with exacting sound characteristics.
This Dimbath cello is a Goffriller model E-class and has a makers cert. It is a 12-year-old cello in perfect condition.
The appearance of the cello is pleasing with a medium orange-brown over gold varnish. The cello boasts rich lower register matched with a ringing, direct upper register. There is a wealth of power allowing a player to experience a distinct core sound to the beginning of every note in every register. This cello is perfect for an advanced player looking for an outspoken, yet sophisticated sound palette. Cellists will embrace this cello in pursuit of high quality orchestral and chamber music endeavors.
