Danuta Pawlikowska (b.1971) studied violin making in Nowy Targ, Poland at the Fine Arts School in Zakopane and graduated in 1995. Danuta apprenticed under her uncle Jan Pawlikowski at his workshop in Krakow, Poland. Pawlikowska has been running her own workshop since 1995 using the classical models Stradivari, Guarneri, Brothers Amati, and Gasparo da Salo for her violins, violas and cellos. She won second prize for viola in the 2003 “Triennale Internazionale” competition in Cremona, and is known for the beautiful tone of her instruments. She is a member of the Polish Violin Makers Union. This violin is a copy of Guarneri del Gesu’s Cannone – wonderfully expressive and bold! It has a great bite to the lower end of the instrument, and clarity all around. This responsive violin would be perfect for an any advanced violinist who wants a beautiful sound, perfect for performance.
