Dimitri Atanassov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1970 and started playing violin at the age of 6. After playing professionally in orchestras and chamber ensembles, Atanassov took up violin making in 2002. He was inspired by violin maker Ian Sweetman as well as the Cremonese masters Guarneri and Stradivari and learned the art of violin making and restoration in the United States, France, and Italy. He opened his workshop in Cremona, Italy in 2013 and his instruments have become known for their excellent quality of sound and easy playability. This workshop violin produces these qualities and offers a vibrant, clear tone with colorful overtones. It is an ideal option for an advanced violinist.
