Eric Gagne, Canadian bowmaker based In Montreal, showcases bows of contemporary design and materials while embracing the best of historical tradition. Gagne’s work places players at the forefront, spotlighting feel, playability, and musical artistry.
Gagne began his journey working in the company of Blaise Emmelin in France, and after in Brussels at “Maison Bernard” for Pierre Guillaume. Moreover, Gagne driven by the respect for traditional bowmaking techniques, was trained in the art of bow restoration.
Consequently, Gagne has received numerous awards for bowmaking from the VSA, has membership in the VSA, and is a founding member of the Maker’s Forum, an organization dedicated to promoting contemporary Canadian violin and bow makers.
Your eye will be drawn to the silver winding and complementary design of the frog. Take hold of the bow, feel the comfort, and revel in its balance. Now play! The sound is sweet, buttery, supple, and energetic. Explore any bowing technique and be rewarded. Enjoy the delicious union with your violin!
