World acclaimed French bow maker Georges Tepho (b. 1961) began his training in the Mirecourt school of bow making.  In 1980, he completed his apprenticeship at the “Lutherie and Archeterie” school, studying under the tutelage of Bernard Ouchard and Roger Lotte.  He then worked with Sylvie Masson.  In 1982, Tepho relocated to Paris and opened his own workshop in Quimper. He compares his work “to the intricacy of making jewelry.”  To claim his legacy and perfect his craft, Tepho mentors young upcoming bow makers.  He has participated in expositions in Paris, Frankfurt, and Tokyo, as well as a multitude of competitions, where his bows have won numerous awards.

Tepho makes his own model of bow, however, he is highly influenced by the elegance of 19^th century French archeterie, as well as models inspired by the bows of Tourte and Pajeot.
