Marcel Lapierre (b. 1907, d. 1979 Mirecourt, France) was a prominent figure among the numerous Mirecout bow workshops active in the twentieth century. He apprenticed with Thibouville-Lamy for two years, worked for Brouillier & Lotte c. 1926, then Lotte 1931-36, and was subsequently employed by Bazin, Morizot, and for a brief time, was with Ouchard. In 1947 he worked for Vidoudez in Geneva before returning to Mirecourt in 1948 to establish his own shop. As you can see, Lapierre learned from the best.
The Lapierre bow draws a powerful, bold, exhilarating, and beautiful, colorful sound from the violin. We believe you will say “wow’ after playing it for a few minutes. Lapierre’s bow provides you with lovely control of bow techniques, dynamics, and instant response from the strings. The octagonal stick yields satisfying legato, staccato, spiccato, and sautille strokes and more. Come audition this exceptional bow!
